Pupils from Year 6 at St Chad’s Catholic Primary School in Witton Park, Bishop Auckland, enjoyed a fantastic ‘Treat Day’ at Planet Leisure, marking a memorable outing filled with fun, laughter and friendly competition.

Roller Skating and Bowling Fun

The day began with an energetic roller-skating session, where pupils took to the rink with enthusiasm. There was plenty of excitement as children tested their balance and skating skills. While everyone had a great time, it is expected there may be a few aches, pains and bruises tomorrow after such an active start to the day.

Following roller skating, the group moved on to ten-pin bowling. The competition quickly became lively, with pupils cheering each other on and celebrating every strike and spare.

Dramatic ‘Bowl-Off’ Decides the Winner

The highlight of the bowling session was a dramatic tie-break between Sam and Miss Maitland. With scores level, the pair faced a decisive ‘bowl-off’.

  • Sam’s scores: 9 and 1
  • Miss Maitland’s scores: 9 and 0

In a closely fought finish, Sam emerged victorious, securing the win with a strong final frame. Congratulations to Sam for a well-earned victory and for keeping calm under pressure.

Lunch and Arcade Excitement

After an action-packed morning, pupils refuelled with a popular lunch of pizza and chips. Spirits remained high as the group then spent time in the arcades, making the most of their visit and enjoying a variety of games. By the end of the day, it is safe to say that pockets were empty but smiles were full.

A Memorable Day for Year 6

The ‘Treat Day’ was a wonderful opportunity for Year 6 pupils to celebrate together, creating lasting memories as they approach the end of their time at St Chad’s Catholic Primary School. From skating and bowling to sharing food and fun in the arcades, it was truly a great day enjoyed by all.
