The Year 5 and Year 6 class have formed an Eco‑Warriors group. Their job is to make sure no water or heat is wasted in school. Each day, they go around the building checking that lights are switched off, recycling bins are used properly, and whiteboards are turned off so no electricity is wasted. At the end of the week, they award each class either a red or green paw print to show how well they have done!
When the group first started, they wanted to adopt an endangered animal. They organised a fundraiser and raised £100 to adopt a sea turtle. This is proudly displayed on our St Francis of Assisi wall because he loved animals.
We have also added bird feeders to our Forest School area. Every day, the Eco‑Warriors look after them as part of their checks. We provide fat balls, bird seed, and nuts - and the fat balls are definitely the birds’ favourite!
